Mothers Heart Uganda's health meetings educate pregnant mothers on Antenatal care, Hospital deliveries, HIV/AIDS prevention, Emergency response during pregnancy and Postnatal services
Recently Mothers Heart Uganda established a medical center in the heart of Mutoto community to address the high maternal mortality rate and limited access to healthcare services. The new medical center provides quality maternal healthcare, making it easier for women, men, and children to access timely and adequate medical care. This initiative was a direct response to the community's voiced need for nearby medical health services. All these activities are partially funded through volunteer-organized donations. To further enhance healthcare accessibility, a community tri –cycle ambulance was procured with funding from a visiting volunteer to Mothers Heart Uganda Project, offering a cost-effective transport solution for urgent medical needs.
Mothers Heart Uganda has invested much of its time and resources in empowering women like, Vocational Training: Providing skills training in areas like tailoring, knitting, and crafts to enable women to start their own businesses. Microfinance Programs offering small loans and financial literacy training to help women start or expand their businesses, Entrepreneurship Development by Supporting women to develop business plans, access markets, and build entrepreneurial skills Agricultural Training and tree/seedling developing by providing training on modern farming techniques, agricultural business management, and market access to help women improve their agricultural productivity and income.
Mothers have been organized in forming savings association through community initiative and by support from 100WEEKs, Wilden Ganzen and STICHTING LOT. Where women in the community get €8 per week for 100 weeks to enable them do small business of their choices to improve their incomes in their families. Mothers Heart Uganda offers weekly training to these women in areas like, Business Mentorship, Financial Literacy, supporting women to engage in income-generating activities like poultry keeping, goat rearing, or beekeeping, building women's leadership skills to enable them to participate in decision-making processes and advocate for their economic rights. These initiatives aim to enhance women's economic empowerment, improve their livelihoods, and promote gender equality.
